Favorite Travel Memories
Long before we became nomads we started traveling. Traveling introduced us, and our kids, to a world beyond the bubble that was our life in Kansas City. We started with travel in the US and Mexico, but with the opportunity to travel abroad through my work we quickly expanded our boundaries. We recently reminisced on our favorite travel experiences over the past 32 years.
Still Learning
It was a mere two months ago when we wrote that we were going to chase the sun and 72 degrees year round. Coming off of France in November we were done with cold grey rain. So a universal statement was made: No More Cold Weather! Yet our conversations this past week have challenged that decision. Yes, we’ve loved the weather we’ve had so far this winter. From Florida to Jamaica to Mexico, we’ve been enjoying sun and warm temperatures. We’ve got a great tan. The slippers have remained packed away in our suitcases. So why are we questioning that decision while we’re here in Mexico?
Soaking up the Sun at Sandals Royal Plantation
We spent 6 nights and seven days at Sandals Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios Jamaica in January 2026. If you’re looking for a quiet all inclusive with absolutely incredible scenery and 5 star service, you can’t go wrong with this property!
Where the Road Ends and Island Time Begins: Key West
The weather forecast for the week in Jacksonville did not fit our definition of warmth and sunshine! So we decided to head south, as far south as we could go. And that meant Key West, Florida! Key West is a vibe. The weather was perfect and it wasn’t crowded. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a low key tropical escape within the US. As Jimmy Buffet says, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere!
